Drawing From a Work of Art - Studying the Masters (WTD35)

Tuesday, December 5 ···  from 7 to 8 PM New York EST (GMT-5)

Continuing with the series of Drawing and Painting Classes, Ways to Draw and Paint, this time we will see what the most important elements of the visual language are and how they are all put together to make a composition. Before doing our own great drawings or paintings we need to study what the artists that came before us did in the past, those wonderful works of art teach us big lessons, so let's learn from the masters and their works.

Have some paper and art supplies on hand to make your own work of art from a work of art from the past. Charcoal or graphite pencil could do, but also colored pencils, pastels, watercolours...

I f you cannot attend this one, don't worry, there'll be may more. Surely one weekly session with a different work each week.

Vacancies are very few. If unfortunately you could not attend, please cancel the order so that someone else can take it. Thank you!!

About this event

  • 1 hour
  • Mobile eTicket

In this workshop we will analyze the main structures, shapes and inner rhythms of a plant and/or flower so that we can get a somewhat close representation on our picture plane. It doesn't have to be a realistic result, but we will try to give the idea of what the flower or plant that we are depicting, are. We will not be making deep botanical studies.

Possible materials:

  • a pen
  • graphite pencil
  • fine 0.5 marker
  • charcoal

If you wanted to add some color, then you can choose one of these:

  • colored pencils of any kind
  • watercolors
  • chalk pastels

Choose only one of these materials to work with then also have some drawing paper (A4 to A3 size)on hand to make your work of art. You might need to also have a sharpener, a kneaded eraser and a piece of cloth to clean. Can´'t miss this workshop!
