I made this sketch after some digital retouch to the previous image (yes,
the Michelangelo's sculpture). I printed the result and worked on it. The
next one (2) is done in the same way.

Self portrait

Self portrait by dibujandoarte

Self portrait, a photo by dibujandoarte on Flickr.

A draft made with an old & worn out marker, over a cardboard on which I had
pasted some pieces of newspaper. Later I applied temperas with a piece of
wood like a painter's knife. I chose cyan yellow and magenta, but only the
first is pure. Also used some white tempera. I added charcoal lines at the
end.

collage - mixed media after a painting by Toulouse-Lautrec

the third and last collage for the project for school.

these works (plus Seurat's Bagnade I posted some months ago) are just pieces of papers torn from magazine, glued to the board. later i added some color or details with oil pastels, then acrylic varnish on top.

the one after casas has also some gouache (témpera) beneath the oil pastel on the upper part of the work

they can walk anywhere they like

i made a watercolour from a photo i had from my holidays in 2007. i found a sketch i had done back in 2005, then i thought of making this couple walk on the sand to the house on the peer entrance. i started cutting the sketch then taking some pics to see what it looked like.

unfortunately my winter vacations will be over in august then i won't have enough time to play around with this but start again with school work. but what i will mostly miss is visiting blogs as i'm enjoying so much these last few weeks...

study of lights in Caravaggio's The calling of Saint Matthew

i started this as a quick skecth, but ended up making a study of composition lights and shadows from a book about Caravaggio . I kept on adding roght details for about 1 hour then. In a way I felt attracted to try a new pencil* I had bought last week on this A4 sized sketchbook I did with brown paper.

EDM challenge # 139 - draw something with a handle

this time my home's kettle. marker, ink and "dry marker" colour pencils by staedtler. an additions
of planes with the paint shop pro.
the survey i did let me know that half of the times I spoil my work when i'm trying to enhance it
digitally. that reminded me of that saying ...sometimes a step forward is a step back(wards)...
anyway, i coulnd't help adding the colour planes this time...
