woodcut
it looks like an obsession but it's not. it's just i'm working on this woodcut, and someone asked me to upload a pic of the woodcut itself. Here's a scan i did before i added a couple a details while checking the image, you know, horizontal flip (mirror) then change black into white, etc.
The upper part is missing as it's doesn't enter the scanner, it's 24 x 30 x 0.3 cm (9.6 x 12 x 6/5 inches). I can't scan it rght now since it's all golden and full of xilographic ink, then i'm posting this one.
woodcut in 2 colours
i already stamped it in colours. the first print is a solid dark purple colour rectangle, then when dry i printed the woodcut in golden ink on top.
it's the first try that's why the golden print doesn't look ok. once i make other copies the layer will look solid.
(the image: i used a sketch i did of a painting by Fader)

woodcut after sketch
this is a scan of a woodcut i just did after the sketch at the fine arts museum i posted some weeks ago, a sketch of a painting by Fader.
I still haven't printed it, this is a scan of the wood, and on which i changed the colors black to white and wood to black to see how it'll look after it's printed. this time it will be done in two colours, a black background, then this woodcut in opaque white on top, then the black drawing will be seen. i'll post a pic after i have printed some copies.
what i already did was to stamp it on a wet heavy paper then the image shows good in relief, but it's all white so i havent tried a photo, yet... gonna check the light and see if i can take one.

woodcut 2
i did this little woodcut (my second one!) for fun. Maybe I ll use it a school, but i dn't know if it'll fit the requirements for the subject. i made it after an image of late laura branigan, as a tribute to all the love she gave, and the pleasure she's given many of us with her voice & music.
this is how it should look like when I make the prints

my first woodcut
it's been such a long time (over a month) since my last post! even just now i realize last march 18th. it was one year since i started blogging! MY BIG THANKS TO YOU ALL WHO VISITED AND YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT DURING THIS PAST YEAR!!!!
well, this is my first woodcut ever, for school. it's a scan of the wood itself as i still havent printed it. i've been (am) too busy with school and work. unfortunately this week i had to miss several classes as i wasn't feeling alright then had to stay home. anyway, next tuesday i'll make some prints out of it as it is (unfinished) then after that i have to cut all the white parts in the hen and sun. the first printings have to be made only contour. i'll post it again once it's finished.
