CV

Martín Franco - Currículum Vítae (abridged) (CV en español)

Book binder since 1984.
I drew and painted throughout my adolescence in a self-taught way.
From 1995 to 2002 I worked as an assistant at an English language institute where I carried out teaching, organizational, accounting tasks, preparation of teaching materials among many other activities.

In 2001 I attended a drawing workshop for the first time. That year I decided to quit the third year of my Biochemistry degree at the university to dedicate myself almost exclusively to artistic activities.
In 2005, the teacher and visual artist Lucrecia Aranda called me as a class assistant in her drawing and painting workshops, mainly of human figure with a live model, in her studio and at the Centro Cultural General San Martín in Buenos Aires.
With this learning from direct work in workshops, in 2008 I decided to expand my training through formal education and began Visual Arts School, obtaining the title of Arts Professor in Visual Arts with a focus on Painting in 2012 and did a second orientation on PrintMaking in 2013. I started a couple of Postgraduate Specializations in Arts after that, but didnt complete them fully.
Since 2011 I've teaching the Human Figure in LifeDrawing workshops at the General San Martín Cultural Center and at the Centro Cultural y Teatro 25 de Mayo, in Buenos Aires City.
I've been also teaching drawing and painting classes in my studio in Buenos Aires though since March 2020 I have been coordinating online workshops, in real time, via ZOOM, with very good results in the production of works of those who attend. I'm also teaching some life drawing classes in person.

M. de Rosas Historical Museum of San Andrés, the Buenos Aires Zoo, the Bernardino Rivadavia National Museum of Natural Sciences, the Honorable Deliberative Council of General San Martín, the José Hernández School, the Music Association in San Martín, among other places such as bars and art galleries.
Between 2004 and 2006, I made around 20 illustrations and infographics for the print and online editions of the Spanish newspaper El Heraldo de Aragón. In Argentina, I illustrated the cover of the album Folkloreishons 3 by pianist Eduardo Lagos, among other artistic works that were published.
