paintings from some years ago
i was looking for some old works some weeks ago and found there were some i had never uploaded (as most of the things I do) but now I felt like showing these. these are school works, studies of values, colours, and who knows what, in tempera or acrylics.

The waiting.

The varnish and the lights in my studio together with a low-quality cellphone cam,
makes it difficult to take a decent pic. Though in some way i think it enhances the real painting hehe.

still life sketch oil pastel
another still life, first i sketched with grey and black oil pastel. on topd i added some colors, then blended with turpentine and continued adding more colors + blackand white or some complementary for the shadows. took me about an hour to make it (35x50 cm approx)

still life + 350 posts!
these are some works (among many other) i did yesterday for school. I've just realized this is my 350th post in this blog!!! WOW! I cannot believe that. Hope to be able to post more regularly during summertime.

still life - gouache 50x70 cm
another quick still life painting as exercise. too colourful i guess, but sometimes gouache is unpredictable; when dry colours vibrate so much more that while painting, i always forget to bear that in mind...
next week we're supposed to be painting some cacti in class...
