can't find myself in my drawings

i keep looking at myself in the mirror, but I can't completely find me in my drawings... hahaha.

the thing is that there are always some details i miss while drawing that i realize after i finished it, eyes too close or separated, bigger/smaller eyebrows, slant mouth, smaller nose, hahahaha. i'll keep on looking till i can get it right. maybe that's what's really interesting about art, if we could do exactly what we plan or want, maybe it wouldn't be so wonderfully exciting as art is!

The funniest about this drawing i did today is that it looks better (more similar) when it's bigger, which is the contrary as they always look better when I see them smaller on the pc screen.

etching

first I made the portrait with red gouache and sugar on to the metal, then covered it with hard base then washed the gouache, then the acid. Though I had to retouch some parts where the hard base had washed off

me in front of the mirror again. this time painting. i am more a drawer than a painter though this time i started without a previous drawing, not even with the brush. i just started filling spaces with painting and just that, tried to observe shapes with similar colours and values, though i used a strange palette, i mean not the real ones but with a grayish one. it's three in the morning now, i should take a better photo during the daylight i know, anyway...

once more, me facing a mirror, this time oil pastels and turpentine to blend at hand... (I should use cleaner colours but i can't help mixing and using dirty ones, haha). I was too tired when i did it so now i realized my eyes are in a different line but the idea was to also not add too much details. i tried to make it using shapes and not using lines i mean rather pictorial than drawing

it's not too late: to learn

gotta see what's around me but learn to only store what really cares. gotta learn to make silence when i'd normally speak and start to speak when i generally remain silent. have to keep on hearing everything and everyone like I do but have to learn to only listen to what's important

EDM # 56= draw a selfportrait

i drew a selfportrait in sanguine pastel. i also drew some eyes separately in different mediums. i chose left in sepia pastel, and right in WC pencils. made digital collage with them on the original image, then added all the dots, then erased circled parts too leaving the original image to be seen in some parts, then framed it in black. i know i may ruin the drawing but i like to play with digital effects even though the results cannot be good, i took more than 2 hours erasing adding different shapes, looking for a composition i liked till i got this one... if you want to say it's worst thing you've ever seen, just say it, you're surely right!

what do I look like?

what do I look like?

playing with paint shop pro and the oil selfportrait I did, and after Juj's mail saying about our image on the mirror, on a photo, to flip a photo, so here are four ways I can look like. By the way the pose wasn't totally front but a little rotated as I set a lamp from the left and wanted to have lights and shadows to play with. it's fun to see these images of "me" ¿?
