some life sketching
these are short poses, in general they are from 5 minutes to 1 minute (most of them). they are all mostly about A4 size sketches. in some of them there is a previous dry blot in gouache..
some life sketching - part 1
these repeated poses are related to the previous work () which was made on the same big paper; in this case I made each pose in different small papers about A4 size. there is a first blot in watercolours then pencil or pastel on top for the linework. there are two studies in black ballpen.

life studies 2 (3x3)
These are quick poses, which the model repeats several times then one can keep on working once he's in the pose again. i did two different ones, and these was another one of these from some time ago, but i think i haven't uploaded it... not sure now...
I just found it in the PC, this one was done in july but we had to give up a few minutes after we had started to draw/paint. i had used a gouache wash then.

two collages after known paintings (still in progress)
i decided to make some studies of paintings, in this case one by spanish Ramón Casas and the other by the genious Georges P. Seurat. Of course my compositions varied a lot from the originals, but i didn't dedicate as much time as I should have, what i mean is that there are many differences in negative spaces, directions and proportions, but it was cause started making a rough sketch with an oil pastel and begun collecting and pasting coloured papers, and didn't come back to the originals to review all that, just to compare some colours and work lightly on the shapes.
will try to pay more attention to that in the following studies, anyway these two are still in progress so maybe i'll make some arrangements... something i don't like at all is the missing part of the kid at the bottom-right in the collage after Seurat's painting, since it was cut in the book i used as reference...

"Carlos Gardel" by 7 year-old children
A big collage (70x100cm) that was done by children in a second grade, during my first "practice classes" as a teacher at a primary school.
i did the contour drawing. they chose the coloured papers out of mags comparing with the original image and stuck the papers. i added some details at the end.
i must confess i didn't expect such a nice final work, what i intended was that they enjoyed the activity and they really did.

composition for school
i made this drawing which started as a composition for a bas-relief for school, with a semi-abstract figure and a surreal one, then I also used it for another project in a different subjetct and wrote a story about it and illustrated the story too. The colour one is the one I chose as the main image of that project. (I took the background skies from a site in intenet as I was in a hurry to hand it in)

playing and reality
the book title "playing and reality" from Winnicot, brought this image to me so I drew it, though i still haven't read the book...
Which one of the bears represents reality and which one the playing part? mmm... i wonder that too...

405 posts!!!
Wow! I just saw I had over 400 entries, never would've thought of that when I started this blog back in 2007. I've been away for a while since I'm too busy lately though I hope to be posting more works during the year as I am able to find some free time. Thanks for your visits and comments!
