The same composition had to be made as in impresionism, as cubism and suprematism, so I chose these ways to make the exercise out of these sketches I invented. and using the colours as in a painting of Juan Gris and Olga Rozanova's Non-Objective Composition (Suprematism).
these are two half A4 sized sketches from this afternoon class. they were very quick ones, just little studies of light and shadows of the posing model
first I made the portrait with red gouache and sugar on to the metal, then covered it with hard base then washed the gouache, then the acid. Though I had to retouch some parts where the hard base had washed off
i don't know what this technique is called in English... a soft base of painting then added some pieces of cloth and thread on top, then pressed. After that into the the acid like a normal etching...
